About me!

Hi, I’m Sophie. I’m based in Vancouver and I’ve never really known life without a dog nearby. From the dogs I grew up with to the ones I’ve raised myself, they’ve shaped the way I move through the world: more patient, more present, and always a little more joyful.

My perspective on dogs changed even more when I brought home a reactive pup of my own. She challenged me in the best ways and taught me how much dogs rely on us to notice the small things: subtle body language, early stress signals, and when they need space versus when they’re ready to be brave. That experience is a big reason I care so deeply about advocating for a dog’s needs, especially in busy, high-energy environments like weddings.

With Coastal Wedding Paws, my goal is simple: to help couples include their dog in their wedding day without adding stress to the timeline. I focus on calm, safety-first handling, clear communication, and thoughtful planning so your pup is comfortable and supported throughout the day.

I’m always learning and I’m committed to ongoing training and behaviour courses to deepen my understanding of how dogs think, feel, and communicate. I’ve also completed my pet first aid certification, because loving dogs also means being prepared.

When I’m not hanging out with pups, I’m usually out enjoying Vancouver’s outdoors or planning my next travel adventure. I know first-hand that dogs are family, and I feel genuinely lucky that my work lets me celebrate that.
